Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Uttar Pradesh for smooth and peaceful celebration of 77th Independence Day celebrations tomorrow.
This year, various programmes related to “Meri Mati, Mera Desh” campaign are also being organised under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The main function of flag hoisting and other grand programmes will be organised at the Raj Bhavan and Vidhan Bhavan in the state capital.
Special DG (Law and order) Prashant Kumar said here on Monday that a large police deployment has been made to ensure security during all the programmes in the state.
He said 238 companies of PAC, three companies of SDRF and seven companies of the CAPF force have been deployed for security arrangements in all the districts.
“In Lucknow, 3 Additional Superintendents of Police and 6 Deputy Superintendents of Police have been put on duty in view of the grand events of Independence Day celebrations,” Kumar said.
He said adequate police arrangements have been made by identifying sensitive places/hot-spots in all the districts of the state. Arrangement of QRT teams, rooftop duty, duty of police in plain clothes and duty of women police personnel have been done at all important hotspots and event sites.
“Continuous checking, patrolling, mock drill and action as per SOP is being ensured to ensure security arrangements at important establishments like railway/bus station, mall, hotel, dhaba/sarai, religious place and vital installations in all the districts. Regular patrolling and vehicle checking is also being done at the entry of all the districts.All important and sensitive places are being monitored through drone cameras and high resolution CCTV cameras, ” he added.
He said under the Meri Mati-Mera Desh campaign, programs related to the performance of police bands on patriotic songs are being organized at every district’s police lines, police stations and police offices in accordance with the instructions of the government, along with hoisting the tricolor at every house, national flag and saluting the heroes.
The Special DG said suitable instructions have been sent from the headquarters level to ensure proper security arrangements and smooth traffic arrangements in the Tiranga Yatras to be taken out in all the districts of the state.
