SC seeks ED response to AAP leader Sanjay Singh’s bail plea

SC quashes proceedings against Karnataka Dy CM Shivakumar in PMLA case

The Supreme Court on Monday sought a response from the Directorate of Enforcement on a bail plea by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh who is incarcerated since October 2023 on an alleged money laundering case.

Issuing a notice on the bail plea by Sanjay Singh, a bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Datta sought a response from the Centre’s anti-money laundering agency.

The AAP leader had approached the top court against February 7, 2024 Delhi High Court order denying bail to the AAP leader.

The bench tagged Singh’s bail plea with his earlier petition in which he has challenged his arrest and remand. This matter, also being heard by a bench headed by Justice Khanna, will come for hearing on March 5, 2024.

So, both the petitions – one challenging his arrest and remand and other seeking bail – will come up for hearing on March 5.
