Congress MLA Jitu Patwari landed in a major controversy while campaigning for his party in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.
During a door-to-door interaction with voters in his constituency, Rau, Patwari was heard saying “party gayi tel lene (party is not important)”. In a video widely being shared on social media site Twitter, Patwari can be seen embracing an elderly couple and telling them, “Aapko meri ijjat rakhni hai, party gayi tel lene (You have to think about my honour. Party can go to hell).”
The phrase soon spread like wildfire on social media as #CongressGayiTelLene began trending in no time.
Soon after the major faux pass, Patwari took to Twitter and posted, “Rau Vidhan Sabha ka har vyakti chahe wo mera virodhi hi kyu na ho, mere parivar ka hissa hai. Apne kshetra main jansampark ke dauran main dalgat nahi balki vyaktigat roop se sabhi (virodhiyo se bhi) milta hu, aur aage bhi milta rahunga.”
“Main nai, poore desh ki janta ab keh rahi hai ‘BJP jaye tel lene’.. Bhajpa apna daaman chhupane ke liye tarah-tarah ke hathkande apna rahhi hai. Par janta sab janti hai),”
“(Every person in the Rau Vidhan Sabha including opponents is a part of my family. I not only interact with the public as a party representative but as an individual as well, and I will continue to do so in future).”
“(Not only me, but entire country is saying that ‘BJP can go to hell’. BJP is trying to cover the blots on its name by one way or the other. But the public knows everything.”
Madhya Pradesh is all set to go on polling for state assembly elections on November 28.
Meanwhile in Madhya Pradesh Rahul Gandhi’s trustee Jitu Patvari is clearly heard saying
