Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has supplied approximately 45,000 tonnes of steel for the upcoming Mahakumbh Mela 2025, scheduled to be held in Prayagraj.

This steel will play a vital role in the construction of essential temporary structures, ensuring the smooth and successful execution of the event.

The supplied steel will be used for building pontoon bridges, walkways, temporary steel bridges, substations, and flyovers.

The major recipients of this supply include the Public Works Department (PWD), Uttar Pradesh State Bridges Corporation, the Electricity Board, and their respective contractors.

The consignment includes chequered plates, hot strip mill plates, mild steel plates, angles, and joists.

Notably, SAIL had also contributed steel for the Mahakumbh Mela in 2013, underscoring its consistent support for this significant cultural event.

In a statement, SAIL expressed pride in contributing to a large-scale event that symbolizes India’s rich cultural heritage.

“The company remains committed to supporting national projects that enhance infrastructure and promote the nation’s cultural and social well-being,” the release added.
