Taking a jibe at Union Minister Giriraj Singh over his remarks against Rahul Gandhi, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha on Wednesday said that the BJP leader belongs to a ministry that only talks about “halal vs jhatka”, Hindu vs Muslim and India vs Pakistan.

Jha also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to limit his portfolio for these kind of things.

“Giriraj Singh belongs to a ministry which talks only about halal vs jhatka, India vs Pakistan, Hindu vs Muslim, this kind of portfolio actually doesn’t exist in the Centre. I would request PM Modi to limit his portfolio for these kinds of things so that it doesn’t come as a shock to people,” he told news agency ANI.

His reaction came in response to Giriraj Singh’s remarks that Rahul Gandhi is inauspicious for the INDIA alliance. He was referring to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s exit from the Opposition’s alliance.

“Rahul Gandhi has been proven to be inauspicious for the INDI Alliance. The alliance is breaking everywhere he goes… The same happened in West Bengal and Bihar. In UP, if he bows down before Akhilesh Yadav then it is a different thing… First Rahul Gandhi should do ‘Nyay’ within the party,” he said on Tuesday.

Earlier on Sunday, JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar resigned from the post of Bihar chief minister and asked the Governor to dissolve the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ government.

“I have resigned as Chief Minister and ended this government. I was getting suggestions from all around. I had quit an earlier alliance for a new tie-up. But the situation was not okay. So I have resigned,” he told reporters in Patna.

Later in the day, he joined the BJP-led NDA and formed a new government. He also parted ways with the INDIA alliance.
