Former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) minister Sucha Singh Langah was sent to police custody till 9 October on Wednesday.

Sucha Singh Langah was booked, 26 September, after a widow lodged a complaint that the Akali leader had raped her on several occasions and had threatened her not to disclose the matter to anybody.

Langah has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 376 (rape), 384 (extortion), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code at the Gurdaspur City police station.
