Rajnath Singh discusses security scenario separately with J-K Governor, CM

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh separately held discussions with Jammu-Kashmir Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on issues concerning the security scenario in the state.

Singh discussed with Vohra at the Srinagar’s Raj Bhavan various important issues relating to security management, matters relating to efficient delivery of public services and the future growth and development of the State.

Governor briefed the Home Minister about the internal and external security situation, including the position along the International Border and LoC, violations of the ceasefire agreement, and the impact of the suspension of operations by the Security Forces which was announced by the Government of India on the eve of Ramzan, on 16 May.

He also briefed Home Minister about the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatra, which begins on 28 June.

Singh had a one-on-one meeting with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

During the meeting, overall security situation in the State came up for discussion, particularly after the suspension of operations by the Central Government for the holy month of Ramzan.

Timely completion of projects under Prime Minister’s Development Plan also came up for discussion during the meeting.
