Raj housing board bags SKOCH Gold Award-2022


The Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) bagged the prestigious SKOCH ‘Gold’ Award-2022 for the second consecutive year for innovations, rejuvenation and achievements in the housing category.

Instituted in 2003, the SKOCH award honours people, projects and institutions that go the extra mile to make India a better nation. SKOCH Award winners include the mighty and the ordinary alike.

The new innovations like ‘Wednesday Auction Festival, e-bid submission and e-auction, the sale of more than 16,000 surplus properties were delivered, said RHB Commissioner Pawan Arora.

He said besides building a coaching hub, MLA Housing and CM Jan Awas Yojana, all under construction AIS and projects like SS Residency, Jaipur Chowpatty, and other administrative reforms enabled the RHB to get awarded for the second time in a row.

Under the ‘Wednesday Auction Festival’ in 2020, altogether 1,213 properties worth Rs 185 crore were sold in just 12 days as against the selling of 1010 houses in 35 working days in 2019, Arora, a senior IAS officer, claimed.

“The entire revival includes sale of 10200 houses and 1800 commercial properties through auction to public and others till November 2021,” said Arora, adding that it was all achieved during 18 months of Covid-19 pandemic period.

Along with the SKOCH Award, the RHB was also awarded by the Indian Building Congress and the National Real Estate Council for its best performance to meet the housing and business needs of the people of Rajasthan.
