Rajendra Gudha, a cabinet minister in Rajasthan, is facing an FIR for alleged assault and kidnapping of a councillor in the Sikar district while another minister, Udailal Anjana, has figured  with his nephew in a ‘complaint’ (not FIR) of murder of a member of gangster in Nimbahera city of the Chittorgarh district on February 2.

Gudha, minister of state for sainik welfare and home guard, was booked on an FIR of the ward councillor Durga Singh in the Neem Ka Thana police station on February 2 under sections 504, 323, 363 of IPC for kidnapping and intentional insult and assault, Superintendent of Police in Sikar Kunwar Rashtradeep told SNS when contacted.

Since the case involved an elected MLA, it was referred to the state CID-CB for investigation, the SP said.

Gudha, who is one of the six MLAs who won on the BSP ticket and later joined Congress in 2019, has been making public statements in support of former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot for the last two years.

Reacting to the FIR and a video which went viral on Twitter and social media, Gudha said, “I do not know how this has happened without the knowledge of the chief minister who is also the home minister of the state.”

Gudha, who was active during his student life in the university, said, “Ye kaam, lamba hogya 20-25 saal pahle chord diya mere bhai. (This kind of activity… I have quit this long time ago… 20-25 years ago to be precise, my dear friend).

In another visual byte to the media, Gudha, who is not happy with his ministerial berth ever since he was allocated it, said, “It is not possible that a case is registered against a minister and the chief minister is not informed. False case shall not be registered against any public representative.”

He said he would meet the CM personally and inquire as to what was in store for him in his career.

“Meri Patni ne kaha tha mujhe, aise panga mat le, kuch bhi ho jayega. (My wife told me not to indulge with anyone (CM), anything could happen), Gudha recalled.

In his FIR, the victim, Durga Singh, councillor of ward in Kakrana Panchayat under Neem Ka Thana city, alleged that on January 27 afternoon, Minister of Cooperative Udailal Anjana called him and asked about his location. “The Minister, along with his staff members and a woman, entered my house. They pushed me into their vehicle and took me to a farm house at Udaipurwati,” reads the FIR.

In another case of alleged gunning down of one, Vikas alias Banti Anjana, said to be a BJP worker, by some unknown assailants in the Nimbhhera (Kotwali) police station area in Chittorgarh district, an FIR was lodged against three persons under section 302 of IPC (Murder) by a friend of the deceased Devendra Kumawat, its SHO Phool Chand Tailor told SNS when contacted.

According to the police record, the deceased too was wanted in a number of crime cases.

“One complaint was filed by Gnan Shyam Anjana against the minister and his nephew in the said murder case, but it is yet to be examined,” SHO clarified.

Meanwhile, BJP’s local unit is holding a protest cum dharna in the city demanding the arrest of the culprits for the last three days. The SHO, however, said there was no unrest in the city.

The cooperative minister was not reachable on his mobile when tried.
