Amidst snow on Monday, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hoisted the national flag at the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ campsite at Chashma Shahi Moughal Garden in Srinagar. This marks the culmination of the 4,080-km long foot march of the Rahul-led Bharat Jodo Yatra across 12 states and 2 Union Territories in a span of five months.

Rahul was seen wearing a sleeveless jacket at the campsite as the temperature dipped due to overnight snowfall.

In a brief address to the ‘Bharat Yatris’, Rahul thanked them for their love, affection and support they showered on him and his yatra throughout the 136-day foot march, which began from Kanyakumari on 7 September last year.

Later, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were seen playing with snow at the Congress party headquarters in Srinagar as fresh snowfall began in the Valley.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge unfurled the Tricolour at the party headquarters in Srinagar, where a Bharat Jodo Yatra memorial has also been put up. He was joined by Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, who hoisted the national flag at the Yatra’s campsite in Chashma Shahi earlier in the morning.

Most Srinagar-bound flights scheduled for today have been cancelled due to heavy rain and snowfall in the area. Due to this, former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s travel from Delhi to Srinagar to participate in the rally has been cancelled.

Rahul had on Sunday hoisted the Tricolor in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk after the Yatra reached there from Jammu.
