In order to address the grievances of country’s youth, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will announce on Wednesday a separate ‘Youth Manifesto’ of the grand of party for the Lok Sabha elections during his rally in Badnawar, Madhya Pradesh.
The Congress leader, who has been raising the issue of jobs and exam paper leaks during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, is likely to announce a 10-point roadmap to combat the unemployment issue.
“So far there are 4 Nyay- ‘Naari, Yuva, Shramik-Kisan and Hissedaari Nyay’. Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have talked about Kisan and Hissedaari Nyay. Today, in Badnawar, all the attention will be on Yuva Nyay…The biggest issue for the youth is education and income…,” Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh said.
The Congress leader’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is currently in Madhya Pradesh. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge will also attend the Badnawar rally.
The Congress Election Committee (CEC) headed by Kharge is likely to meet on Thursday to finalise candidates for a clutch of states like Kerala and Karnataka. The BJP has so far announced 195 candidates.
A Congress panel tasked with preparing the party’s manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls has prepared a draft of the manifesto, that will now be discussed by the Congress Working Committee.
Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, who heads the manifesto committee, said the draft report will be presented to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
“We have prepared the draft manifesto. Now it will go to the Congress Working Committee. They will finalize the manifesto then it will become the Congress party document. Tomorrow we will hand over this draft to the Congress President,” he said on Tuesday.
