Amid the on-going crackdown against Khalistani preacher Amritpal Singh and his supporters, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on Monday said no anti-social element will be allowed to flourish in Punjab as the Bhagwant Mann government is prepared to take tough decisions if needed.

Addressing a press conference, Cabinet minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said the Bhagwant Mann government will take strict action against whoever tries to vitiate the atmosphere of Punjab or divert Punjab from the path of development.

The minister said he has been continuously receiving calls from people from Punjab and abroad who have been appreciating the Mann government for this action against anti-social elements (Amritpal and supporters).

He praised the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the AAP Government for taking this big and crucial step to maintain law and order in Punjab and said that this proves how serious the Mann government is about peace and law and order in the state.

“A lot has happened in Punjab in the last few days but I assure you that Punjab is absolutely safe under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann. Chief Minister Mann is capable of taking tough decisions to maintain peace in Punjab,” Dhaliwal said.

He thanked the people of Punjab for reposing faith in the Mann government and said the people of Punjab have always shown the spirit of brotherhood and harmony.  “Our government will not spare those people who act against the interest of Punjab or are trying to disturb the peace here,” the minister added.

He praised Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for closely monitoring the matter and leading the action.  “Those who are trying to disturb Punjab, I want to tell them that their nefarious plans will never be successful as long as Bhagwant Mann is our CM,” Dhaliwal said.

“Our party is a patriotic and secular party. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, this entire plan was prepared based on all the information. The people of Punjab are very happy about this action against anti-social elements. The Mann government will not allow any kind of lawlessness,” he added.

The minister said the youth of Punjab do not need bullets and guns. “They need jobs and laptops. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is constantly working towards the property of Punjab. Presently Punjab is in the hands of an honest Chief Minister and is on the path of development. Bhagwant Mann will never let Punjab deviate from the path of development,” he said.
