The authorities have attached the property, belonging to Abdul Rashid Jhangir, in the Doda district of Jammu on Saturday, indicating more tough action against the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
An official spokesman said the land belonging to him in Khanpura Thathri in the district of Doda, has been attached to execute the court order.
According to the Police, Abdul Rashid joined the terror outfit and went to Pakistan in 1993 for arms training to carry out subversive activities.
After being trained up, he intruded back from across the border and remained active with violent activities in the district of Doda. He, along with other dreaded terrorists, unleashed a reign of terror in the form of arson and explosion, targetting the security forces and civilians in the area.
Apart from that, he helped many youths in Doda to join the outfit to monger more trouble in the Nineties.
Notably, terrorist Mohammad Amin aka Khubaib was also initially motivated and recruited by him to join militancy. He is known to be a dreaded terrorist operating from the soil of Pakistan, wherefrom he has been desperately trying to trap the Chenab region again in the net of militancy.
He is involved in a number of terror related activites in the recent past in the Jammu region, which include the incidents of IEDs explosion, drone dropping, transportation of weapon consignment etc to revive terror activities in the Jammu region.
He has also been declared as Proclaimed Offender by the Court. Presently, both Mohammad Amin aka Khubaib and Abdul Rashid aka Jhangir both, local residents of Thathri, are operating from Pakistan and are alluring the youths of the Doda district to join them using social media.
Abdul Rashid aka Jhangir was involved in heinous terror related activities in the Doda district.
A case bearing No 23/1997 U/S 364, 302, 121 RPC, 7/27 Indian Arms Act, has been pending against him in Bhaderwah. This is apart from another case bearing No. 64/2009 U/S 03 against him under the Explosive Substance Act in Thathri. He was declared an absconder and subsequently, proclaimed offender, by the order of Court.
A team was set up by the District Magistrate to execute the Court order to attach his property, situated at the Khanpura Tehsil Pgahsoo (Thathri) village was attached by a joint team of Revenue and Police.
The Doda Police are in process of initiating the proceedings against other local terrorists.
The terrorist commander, had a few years ago, illegally gone to the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) from where, he was operating and luring young boys into join their outfit.
