Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina who is on a four-day visit to India on Sunday.
She was accompanied by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, senior party leader Anand Sharma and interim Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. The meeting was held day after Hasina met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Priyanka tweeted a photo with Hasina referring the meeting as “an overdue hug” from Sheikh Hasina. She referred Hasina as a “great inspiration” for her.

Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Saturday signed seven agreements and inaugurated three development projects. These three development projects include import of bulk LPG from Bangladesh to Tripura through trucks, Vivekanada Bhaban at Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka and the Bangladesh-India Professional Skill Development Institute at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh, Khulna.
Earlier on Saturday, the External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar called on visiting Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina.
“The bilateral relations have never been so close. Naturally, the focus of discussion will be on bilateral relationship. When I say bilateral relationship, we are talking about the next steps the two countries should take now to get the relationship in a different trajectory,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said at a briefing on Friday.
Hasina is serving her third term as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. This is her first visit to India after assuming office for the third term.
The Bangladeshi PM will leave Delhi for Bangladesh on Sunday evening.
