The much publicised Congress General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s three-day training camp in Rae Bareli, scheduled to begin on Monday, has been postponed.
The party leaders have been informed of the change in the programme. The decision came out in view of the by-elections to 11 Assembly seats slated for October 21, sources told IANS.
The training was planned for the new members of the committee to give them tips on how to remain connected with the people and address the issues that are relevant to them. The training camp was planned keeping in mind Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls in 2022. Now the training camp will most likely be organised on October 22, though the dates are not confirmed yet.
The Congress training cell and social media cell have been asked to participate in the workshop and answer the queries of the members.

“The new Congress team in UP comprises relative newcomers and they need to be acquainted with the ideology and working of the party. Senior leaders were to teach them how to deal with political situations,” said a senior party leader.
“Party leaders are being engaged in the workshop at a time when they should be campaigning for the Congress candidates. The workshop could have been held after the by-elections. This is obviously going to have an adverse impact on the party’s prospects in by-polls,” the party leader added.
The timing of the three-day training camp was questioned by the senior leaders of the party. The leaders objected the clash of the camp with the preparation of the upcoming by-elections.
