President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday conveyed his condolences to bereaved families of victims who died in two separate accident in Maharashtra on Saturday.
On Saturday, a helicopter carrying Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) officials crashed in Mumbai. The Pawan Hans chopper had seven people on board, with five officials and two crew members. In a separate incident on Saturday, a boat carrying school children apzised in the Arabian Sea off Dahanu coast in Palghar district of Maharashta.
In a series of tweets, President Kovind said, “Sad to learn about Pawan Hans helicopter crash off the coast of Mumbai. Thoughts with families of those who have lost their lives”.
President Kovind regarding the boat mishap said, “Anguished to hear of boat carrying schoolchildren capsizing in Dahanu, Maharashtra. State government has rescued most of the passengers and is making efforts to trace those still missing. My condolences to bereaved families”.

Boat mishap:
According to media reports, two students have reportedly died, while 32 have been rescued till now. Rescued children have been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The Indian Coast Guard along with local administration are conducting Search and rescue operations to locate the missing students, said media reports.
ONGC helicopter crash:
At lease three people, reportedly, were killed as an ONGC Helicopter crashed this morning in Mumbai. The Pawan Hans chopper had 7 people on board, with 5 officials and 2 crew members.
According to reports, debris has been found 22 miles off the coast.
The Dauphin chopper, VT PWA, had lost contact with Air Traffic Control (ATC) 30 nautical miles off Mumbai. It had taken off from Juhu heliport at 10.20 a.m. for off shore rig operations. The helicopter went missing at 10.35 am. It suddenly lost contact with both the Mumbai ATC and the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
