PM Modi to launch projects worth Rs 500 crore in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh for two days starting Monday, the PMO said on Sunday. Varanasi is the parliamentary constituency of the PM.

The PMO said that the PM Modi will be arriving in Varanasi in the afternoon of 17 September and will head for Narur village located around 8 km southwest of the city.

The PM will interact with children of a primary school in the village. The school is aided by the non-profit organisation Room to Read.

He will then head for the DLW campus where the PM will interact with students of Kashi Vidyapeeth and children assisted by them.

On Tuesday, 18 September, PM Modi will launch various development projects worth more than Rs 500 crore in a ceremony at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Amphitheatre.

Among the projects to be inaugurated are Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) for Puraani Kashi, and an Atal Incubation Centre at BHU. The PM will lay the foundation stone for a Regional Ophthalmology Centre at BHU.

He will also be addressing the gathering at the BHU.
