PM Modi on two-day visit to Assam from today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to commence his two-day visit to Assam this afternoon.

Hectic preparations are on to welcome the Prime Minister at UNESCO World Heritage Site Kaziranga National Park.

The Prime Minister is set to arrive at Tezpur Airport in Sonitpur district at around 4 pm.

His first destination will be the UNESCO World Heritage site Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. Modi will spend the night at the Assam Police Guest House in the Kohora Range of the National Park.

Early tomorrow morning, he will embark on a safari inside the park before heading to Arunachal Pradesh.

During his visit, he will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay foundation stones of various projects totaling Rs 18,000 crore at Jorhat tomorrow.

He will proceed to Jorhat around 1:30 pm, where he will inaugurate an 84-foot high statue of the legendary Ahom warrior Lachit Borphukan at Hollonga Pathar.

Subsequently, Modi will address a public meeting at Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat and virtually inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stones of several projects. These include the Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital, a Child Care Unit at B Baruah Cancer Institute in Guwahati, Barauni to Guwahati natural gas pipeline, and two crude oil pumping stations of Oil India Limited.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will virtually lay the foundation stone of the Sivasagar Medical College and Hospital, the Guwahati and Digboi Refinery expansion projects, including IOCL’s Bethkuchi Terminal in Guwahati. Additionally, Modi will dedicate to the nation the doubling of railway lines from Dhupdhara to Chaygaon and New Bongaigaon to Sarbhog.

Moreover, the PM will virtually perform the ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony for over 5.5 lakh homes constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
