On the occasion of its 29th foundation day, the Patanjali Yog Peeth will lay the foundation stone of the world’s largest Gurukul – ‘Patanjali Gurukulam’ on January 6, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev said on Thursday.
The foundation stone of the Gurukul will be laid by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, Chairman of Amity Group Dr. Ashok Chauhan will also be present during the mega event.
Addressing a press conference in Haridwar, Ramdev said that the Gurukul, which was started 118 years ago by Swami Darshanand with 3 ‘bighas’ of land, 3 ‘Brahmacharis’ and 3 ‘chavannis’, has been named Swami Darshanand Gurukul Mahavidyalaya Jwalapur, adding that it will be a major center of educational revolution.
Ramdev said that a new history, a new milestone will be created from the land of Gurukul Jwalapur.
He further informed that three major projects – a seven-storey Patanjali Gurukulam, a branch of Acharyakulam and the Maharshi Dayanand Guest House will be be built at a combined cost of more than Rs 500 crore.
The Yoga Guru further said that the aim to open these institutions will be to educate children along with the values that will enable them to connect with their culture and their roots.
“The period of glory of Sanatan is going on all over the country. On the one hand, the awareness of Sanatan, the awareness of India and on the other hand, the awareness of modern subjects, that is, the country’s best spiritual education, the education of Sanatan, the awareness of India, the character building with the construction of the nation, the feeling of pride and self-respect will be awakened within the children,” he said.
