A Pakistani terrorist belonging to the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) was gunned down by the security forces on Saturday morning in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Boniyar, Baramulla on Saturday morning in which Luqman, a Pakistani terrorist was killed.
Luqman was killed in Boniyar area of Uri sector in Baramulla district in a gun battle with the personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles and special operations group of state police, police sources said.
“Searches are still going on in the area although firing exchanges have stopped now,” police sources said.
Three Army soldiers and two terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were killed on Tuesday in two separate incidents of terrorism in South Kashmir.
A soldier and two terrorists were killed in an exchange of gunfire that started in the Marhama village of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday morning.
Terrorists had, in a strategy similar to the February attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, had attacked the Army patrol at Arihal. The bulletproof truck of the Army was badly damaged with the driver’s cabin being wrecked. Nineteen soldiers and two civilians were injured in the attack.
The security forces have prepared a hit list of 10 top Pakistani and Kashmiri terrorists for whom a hunt has been launched in the hinterland of the Kashmir valley.
Earlier, security forces had eliminated Zakir Musa, the chief of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a group affiliated with Al Qaeda.
