Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and state IT Minister Yogendra Upadhyay in Paris on Monday inviting industrialists for UP Global Investors meet.

Team Yogi’s roadshow in French Capital Paris  evoked tremendous response with investors not only expressing their desire to strengthen business ties with Uttar Pradesh but are also showing keen interest in investing in various sectors in the state, including defence, agriculture, dairy, food processing, IT, renewable energy and water transport.

A delegation led by Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and IT Minister Yogendra Upadhyay met representatives of the big industrial houses of France in Paris on Monday and invited them to invest in UP and attend the Global Investors Summit to be held from February 10 to 12, next year, officials here said.

The tour is part of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s efforts to make the state a $1 trillion economy in the next five years by bringing foreign investment to the tune of Rs 10 lakh crore through the GIS 2023 to the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sent eight teams of his ministers and senior officials on tour to 18 countries. The Team Yogi’s road shows and trade shows abroad have received overwhelming response from investors and investment proposals worth thousands of crores have been received by the state government.

During a meeting with Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Business France’s Asia and Pacific Area Coordinator, Jean Francois Ambrosio expressed his intention to further strengthen Indo-French bilateral ties through partnerships in the fields of food processing, agriculture and dairy. The delegation from Uttar Pradesh also met Etienne Poirot Bordin, head of the International Commission of Confederation of SMEs (CPME) and invited them to set up industries under MSMEs in sectors like renewable energy, defence and water transportation.

Air Liquide Group Director Maxime Lambert and Risk Management Vice President Bertrand Monoi expressed their desire to invest in the field of green hydrogen in the state and also expressed their intention to expand their business in Uttar Pradesh whereas Thomas Computing CEO Stephen Francis and Vice President International Sales Pierre Krasonewsky expressed interest in investing in IT-related laptop and tablet assembling and distribution.

Maurya also invited the Country Head (India) of EDF Renewables and Total Arain to invest in the renewable energy sector in India and to GIS 2023. The delegation met Dr. Gunjan Bhardwaj from Partex NV and invited the group to UPGIS 2023. Partex NV signed a Rs 1000 crore investment intent to set up AMRUT – a patient data exchange in Varanasi to harness the power of AI in healthcare systems.

On the other hand, the roadshow of the delegation led by Water Power Minister Swatantradev Singh in Singapore was also very successful. During the roadshow, the business community of Singapore discussed with the delegation about the investment opportunities and incentives being provided by the government. The delegation visited the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and partnerships were discussed in various areas.

The delegation from Uttar Pradesh also got to learn a lot in Singapore. During a meeting with the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Foo Hai Yen, the delegation was briefed about the self-discipline instilled in Singaporeans. He said since Singapore is a very small country with limited resources of water and land, people there pays special attention to hygiene and cleanliness. This is the only way that encourages investors to come and invest in Singapore.

He said that technology has been used to strengthen traffic and parking rules I the country. Here every car is chipped so that if it causes a jam in the central business area, the authority automatically comes to know about it and a surcharge is collected from them.
