Over 9,000 skilled workers from UP selected for jobs in Israel

The Yogi Adityanath government is providing employment opportunities to skilled workers and labourers of the state in foreign countries. Workers from the state are being selected and sent for construction work in Israel.

In the first phase, 5,087 workers were selected, followed by an additional 4,121 workers in the second phase for employment in Israel.

Altogether, 9,208 skilled workers will be employed in Israel at a salary of Rs 1.37 lakh per month along with perks.

Minister for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Kapil Dev Aggarwal said here on Friday that as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s initiative to ensure employment for all, an MoU has been signed between the Government of India and the Government of Israel. This agreement stipulates that Indian workers will be provided employment opportunities in Israel in the fields of plastering work, mason, ceramic tiling, mason building framework and mason iron vending.

The Israeli team conducted the second phase of skill test at Government ITI Aliganj, Lucknow, from February 28 to March 7 and selected 4,121 skilled workers. The Israeli team has selected a total of 9,208 skilled workers so far.

The skill test of skilled workers was inspected from time to time by Special Secretary Labour and Director, Training and Employment Kunal Silku.

In collaboration with the NSDC under the guidance of its Director, the Israeli team conducted the skill test of skilled workers.

The Israeli government team, NSDC team and PIBA team assured that if there is a need for more skilled workers in the future, ITI Aliganj, Lucknow, will be designated as an examination centre.
