A day after being released on interim bail in excise policy case, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday morning, accompanied by his wife Sunita Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, paid obeisance, and offered prayers at the ancient Hanuman temple in Delhi’s Connaught Place.
Later, taking to social media, he wrote a couplet from Hanuman Chalisa which says, “All happiness is found in your refuge, you are the protector, I have no fear of anyone.”
” I received the blessings of Lord Hanuman. I prayed to Mahadev in the Shiva temple and worshipped Lord Shanidev. I prayed to God for the happiness and prosperity of the country and prayed for strength to free the country from dictatorship. May God bless everyone, ” the Delhi CM said further.
Those AAP leaders who were also present at the Hanuman temple during Kejriwal’s visit included Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Sanjay SIngh and party’s candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat Somnath Bharti.
Several party workers were also present at the temple at the time of Delhi CM’s arrival at the temple.
“With the blessings of Hanumanji, the prayers of crores of people and the justice of the Supreme Court judges, I am very happy to be back amongst you all,” Kejriwal had written on X, where he also shared that he is set to hold roadshows in South Delhi’s Mehrauli and East Delhi’s Krishna Nagar.
The party workers and supporters looked very excited to see their leader, who came out in public since he was arrested by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on March 21.
For the past 40 days, Delhi CM was under judicial custody, lodged in Tihar Prisons.
On Friday evening, when Kejriwal came out of the Tihar jail, in his first address to his supporters he had said that, “I had said that I would come (out) soon. I have come. Before all, I want to pay obeisance to the feet of Hanumanji.”
He had further said that he was amongst them due to the blessings of Hanumanji, and also thanked millions of people from across the nation for their blessings and prayers.
Kejriwal has been given interim bail by the SC till June 1, but under certain conditions.
