As the Parliamentary Board of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is meeting to discuss the upcoming presidential election, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said opposition parties will take a call on the poll on 22 June.
“They haven't decided on a name yet, even when Arun Jaitley rang me, he didn't have a name for presidential candidate,” the Bihar CM said.
Along with BJP chief Amita Shah, Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh, Ananth Kumar, Venkaiah Naidu and several top leaders are meeting to finalise the party's presidential nominee.
Earlier, a three-member committee, comprising BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu and Arun Jaitley, was formed by Shah.
Last week, Rajnath Singh and Naidu met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury to evolve a consensus on the candidate for the presidency.
