Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account has played a pivotal role in reinforcing his latest avatar of an aggressive opposition leader who leaves no opportunity to attack the regime in power.
Be it the crisp one-liners targeted at Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the sarcastic yet humorous posts where he credited his pet dog ‘Pidi’ for tweeting from his account, the Gandhi scion’s tweets have struck a chord with the people.
And now, the account previously called ‘Office of RG’ has got a new, simplified name– ‘Rahul Gandhi’.
With over 6 million followers, one of the most popular tweets of the Gandhi scion was on the alleged failure of Modi’s ‘hugplomacy’ after United States President Donald Trump tweeted that he was developing a better relationship with Pakistan.
Trump’s comment came in the wake of Pakistan releasing 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Hafiz Saeed from house arrest.
Responding to allegation that his account was being managed by a dedicated team of social media experts, Rahul had put out a sarcastic tweet in October “confessing” that his pet dog ‘Pidi’ was behind the posts.
The account’s renaming has taken place as the Gandhi scion addressed Congress’ first plenary session after becoming the party chief.
