Odisha Assembly elections 2024: Polling to be held in four phases, check complete schedule

Odisha Assembly elections 2024: The elections to 147-member Odisha legislative assembly will be held in four phases, begining from May 13.

The second phase of voting will be held on May 20, third phase on May 25 and final phase on June 1. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.

Issue of notification: April 18, April 26, April 29, May 7

Last date of notification: April 25, May 3, May 6, May 14

Scrutiny of nomination: April 26, May 4, May 7, May 15

Last date of withdrawal of candidature: April 29, May 6, May 9, May 17

Date of poll: May 13, May 20, May 25, June 1

Counting of votes: June 4

In 2019, Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD) secured 113 seats, winning the state for a record fifth consecutive term.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was distant second with 23 seats, followed by Congress party’s nine seats.

The remaining seats were won by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and an independent candidate.
