NEET 2019: The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has decided to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) examination 2019 in pen and paper mode and in a single session in 2019. The government on Monday withdrew its decisions taken in July to hold the test twice a year and in online mode only.
The decision follows recommendations from the Ministry of Health, which raised concerns about conducting the exam twice a year saying such an arrangement might put additional pressure on students.
The health ministry also voiced concern about the online mode saying students living in rural areas might suffer.
NEET 2019 will take place on May 5, 2019.
The National Testing Agency will conduct the examination. In a statement, the NTA said NEET could be taken in the same number of languages as last year.
