Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Nitish Kumar for taking oath as Bihar chief minister and BJP’s Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha as deputy CMs. The prime minister said that the NDA government formed in Bihar today will work for the development of the state and fulfill aspirations of its people.
“The NDA government formed in Bihar will leave no stone unturned for the development of the state and to fulfill the aspirations of its people. I congratulate Nitish Kumar ji for taking oath as Chief Minister and Samrat Chaudhary ji and Vijay Sinha ji as Deputy Chief Ministers. I am confident that this team will serve my family members of the state with full dedication,” PM Modi wrote in a post on ‘X’.
According to reports, Prime Minister Modi called Nitish Kumar to congratulate him after he tendered his resignation and severed ties with the RJD-led ‘Mahagathbandhan’.
This was Nitish Kumar’s fifth flip-flop in the last 10 years. In 2022, Kumar had ditched the BJP-led NDA and joined RJD-Congress-Left alliance to form ‘Mahagathbandhan’ government.
Nitish took oath as Bihar CM for the record 9th time. BJP’s Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha were sworn in as his two deputies. Besides, eight ministers also took oath and more will be inducted soon.
Addressing media after the swearing-in, BJP national president JP Nadda said NDA is the only natural alliance for Nitish Kumar and his JD(U).
“Nitish ji has returned to NDA, it is a matter of happiness for us. The people of Bihar gave the mandate to NDA. JDU and Nitish Ji’s natural alliance is NDA only…,” Nadda said.
