The Indian Navy organized a transformative workshop on ‘Self-Transformation and Inner-Awakening’, led by internationally acclaimed spiritual teacher Sister BK Shivani, at DRDO Bhawan. The event, aimed at bolstering the mental and emotional resilience of Naval personnel, was attended by Vice Admiral Kiran Deshmukh, Chief of Materiel.
The event was part of the Navy’s ongoing 60-day Resilience Programme, aimed at enhancing the mental health and emotional well-being of its personnel and their families. This initiative aligns with the Navy’s broader focus on holistic well-being and operational excellence. The workshop successfully inspired participants to embrace mindfulness and lead with positivity.
The workshop included a two-hour interactive session conducted by Sister BK Shivani. The session focused on raising awareness around mental health, offering practical tools to foster emotional balance, and addressing the growing need for mindfulness and mental well-being, especially among personnel in high-stress, high-pressure roles such as those in the Navy.
Sister BK Shivani’s session covered the root causes of mental stress and provided effective strategies for overcoming it. By emphasising self-awareness, meditation, and the power of positive thinking, she highlighted that mental health begins with our thoughts. She encouraged attendees to choose peaceful and empowering thoughts to create healthier, more fulfilling lives.
In his closing address, Vice Admiral Kiran Deshmukh praised the initiative, underscoring the critical importance of mental well-being in both personal and professional domains. He highlighted that the mental health of Naval personnel is essential to maintaining a cohesive and productive work environment.
