‘House can’t run without you, how can the country’, PM asks women at ‘Nari Shakti Samvad’

“You tell me, when the house cannot run without you, how can the country run without you,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked women during a mega ‘Nari Shakti Samvad’ event in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accompanied the prime minister during the event attended by thousands of women.

Speaking on the occasion, Modi slammed the Samajwadi Party and the Congress for neglecting the women. “For the first time in the country, mothers, sisters, women have come to the centre from the policies of the government to the decisions.”

Interacting with the ladies present at the event, he asked, “You tell me, when the house cannot run without you, how can the country run without you.” This, he said was not understood by successive governments in the country for the last 60 years.

The Congress and SP governments only neglected the insecurity of women, adding that the INDIA bloc is opposed to the reservations for women. “INDI alliance opposes reservation for women. Wherever their government comes to power, the life of women becomes difficult. People of Varanasi are familiar with the ‘jungle raj’ of both Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.”

Referring to the infamous “boys make mistakes” remark of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Modi said if the Samajwadi Party boys make a mistake, the incumbent Yogi Adityanath Government would teach them a lesson.

“Daughters had to leave their studies and sit at home for their safety and SP people shamelessly used to say that they are boys, boys make mistakes. If SP boys make a mistake today, Yogi Adityanath’s government will do something to them that they would not have even imagined,” the PM said.
