Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday had lunch with parliamentarians in the canteen of the new Parliament House.

RSP’s N K Premachandran, Biju Janata Dal’s Sasmit Patra and several other Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members had lunch with the prime minister.

Friday was the last day of the Budget Session, but it has been extended by a day. The current session is also the last session of the 17th Lok Sabha, which goes to polls in a few months.

Though passage of the Interim Budget has been the principal event of the session, the presentation of the White Paper on the Indian economy by the government generated a thorough debate on the government’s performance in its two consecutive terms in the Lok Sabha on Friday.
