All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) MLA and Tamil Nadu Minister for Milk and Dairy Development, KT Rajendra Bhalaji, has said that since the death of AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa, it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had been guiding the AIADMK.

None other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the “daddy” of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). Modi is our daddy now. Since we have lost our Amma, PM Modi has come as a daddy to guide and support us,” he told reporters after addressing a party meeting in Viruthunagar district on Friday.

“When Amma (Jayalalithaa) was alive, she was in full control, her decisions were her own. So, it was different. But in today’s context, due to the absence of Amma, Modi is our daddy. He is India’s daddy. So we have accepted his leadership,” said Bhalaji.

Bhalaji made the statement when he was asked why the AIADMK was entering into an alliance with the BJP when Jayalalithaa was not in the favour of the same.

The ruling AIADMK and the BJP have forged an alliance in the run-up to the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Interestingly, in 2014, the late AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa, during her election campaign asked the people, “Who is a better administrator? Gujarat’s Modi or this Tamil Nadu Lady?”

The crowd had then shouted `Lady’.

The AIADMK contested all the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu and won a whopping 37 seats.
