Medium intensity earthquake hits Ladakh

The Union Territory of Ladakh was hit by a medium intensity earthquake measuring 5.3 hit ton Sunday, officials said.

The quake occurred at 10.54 am at a depth of 10 kilometre, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

According to the spokesman of the Meteorological Department, the tremor lasted for a few seconds.

The spokesman further said that the epicentre of the earthquake was in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The panic stricken  people rushed out of their houses after the tremor , a police official said,

There was no immediate report of any casualty or damage.
