Lok Sabha Elections 2024 phase 4 saw a voter turnout of 25 per cent till 11 am, according to the data shared by the Election Commission of India. The voting is currently underway on 96 seats spread over 9 states and one Union Territory.
West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh recorded the highest turnout of votes in the first four hours, while Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra saw the lowest.
The state-wise voter turnout till 11am:
- West Bengal: 32.78 per cent
- Andhra Pradesh: 23.10 per cent
- Bihar: 22.54 per cent
- Jammu And Kashmir: 14.94 per cent
- Jharkhand: 27.40 per cent
- Madhya Pradesh: 32.38 per cent
- Maharashtra: 17.51 per cent
- Odisha: 23.28 per cent
- Telangana: 24.31 per cent
- Uttar Pradesh: 27.12 per cent
According to the Election Commission of India, a total of 1,717 candidates are in the fray for 96 parliamentary constituencies.
The Lok Sabha elections 2024 are being held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1. Counting of votes will take place on June 4 and the results are also likely to be announced on the same day.
