The Enforcement Directorate (ED), probing the alleged money laundering in the LIFE Mission housing project, will issue a fresh summons to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s additional private secretary CM Ravindran after he skipped appearance before the Central agency for interrogation on Monday.
Ravindran skipped the summons of the ED citing that he had to attend urgent duties in connection with the ongoing Assembly session. The ED holds the view that the reason cited by Ravindran for not appearing before the agency is insufficient.
Ravindran has informed the ED through an email that he would not be able to appear for the interrogation on Monday in view of the ongoing Assembly session.
The ED sources said the ongoing Assembly session cannot be a ground to put a hold on the investigation of a money laundering case, which is now reached in a crucial stage. The ED is learnt to have received legal opinion in this regard.
It was after four summons that Ravindran had appeared before the ED in the gold smuggling case in 2020.
