BRS leader and Telangana Industry Minister KT Rama Rao took a dig at the BJP government at the Centre alleging that agencies like Income Tax, CBI and ED have become its biggest puppets.

Rao took to Twitter soon after the Income Tax sleuths conducted a survey at the Delhi office of BBC, which had aired a two-part documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role during the Gujarat riots this year, to comment on the move.

“What a surprise! A few weeks after they aired the documentary on Modi, BBC India now raided by IT. Agencies like IT, CBI and ED have become laughing stock for turning into BJP’s biggest puppets. What next? ED raids on Hindenberg or a hostile takeover attempt?” he tweeted.

It may be recalled here that two days ago, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao too had taken a swipe at the BJP for the petition filed in the Supreme Court demanding a ban on BBC. The chief minister had said: “Such arrogance, do you think BBC is Zee News, they fear something like your ED?”

Soon after KT Rao’s tweet, BJP hit back alleging that the BRS practised similar vendetta politics against its opponents. Andhra Pradesh BJP’s general secretary Vishnu Vardhan Reddy replied to KT Rama Rao’s tweet and wrote, “BBC’s bias against Hindus and India is not hidden and you are getting rattled with raids upon them? You filed a case on Akula Srivani (BJP’s Hyderabad corporator) for highlighting your government’s failures but agencies should not investigate propaganda machines?” Reddy also referred to Kalvakuntla Kavitha as “the scamster sister” to take a jibe at KT Rama Rao.

Kalvakunta Kavitha, BRS MLC who is under the ED scanner for her alleged role in the Delhi liquor scam, also tweeted after the IT sleuths visited the BBC office pointing that there was no probe in the Adani fiasco so far: “The entire ruling government defends against a probe amidst allegations on one business house and the same government sends its agencies behind those who show the truth! Why?”
