President Ram Nath Kovind visited the new campus of the Amruta Institute of Engineering and Management Sciences, in Karnataka’s Bidadi region, and inaugurated the 111th year celebrations of Basaveshwar Veerashaiva Vidyavardhaka (BVV) Sangha on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kovind congratulated the BVV Sangha for its commendable work in the field of education. Kovind also said that the true measure of education is in how it can help a student contribute towards the society.
Kovind also urged a wider and enlightened understanding of the value of education.
Kovind also noted that Sangha operates over 150 educational institutions in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Over 50,000 students study in these institutions, and that half of them are women.

Kovind said that this emphasis on girl’s education – which is so vital for our society and our country – and on the poor is in keeping with the idealism of the Sangha’s founders.
Imparting of education is a sacred task. Far beyond commercial and personal interests, its motivation must be to equip young minds and help build our nation. That would also be in keeping with the principles of Shri Basaveshwar and Shri Gurubasava Swamiji #PresidentKovind
