Kerala CPI-M decides not to probe allegations against EP Jayarajan

The Kerala unit of CPI-M on Friday decided not to probe the allegations against the party’s central committee member and LDF convener EP Jayarajan.

The party secretariat which met here on Friday discussed the issue in detail and decided not to initiate an investigation for the time being. The decision came after hearing Jayarajan’s explanation in the matter.

The party secretariat has taken the stance that since the allegations were raised at the state committee, Jayarajan will give his reply at the state committee meeting later.

CPI-M state committee member P Jayarajan has accused EP Jayarajan of illegally acquiring property in the name of Ayurvedic resort in Kannur.

P Jayarajan has alleged that there have been massive financial irregularities in the resort and Ayurvedic village, which was built by illegally acquiring property worth Rs 30 crore. He raised the charges at the party state committee meeting held last week

At today’s meeting, EP Jayarajan reportedly told the secretariat that he has no links with the controversial Ayurvedic resort in Kannur. He also furnished documentary details to substantiate his claim.

EP Jayarajan attended the party meeting on Friday after an interval of about three months. He has been staying away from activities organised by the CPI-M and the LDF for some time now. He has taken leave from the party since October 6, citing health issues.

It is worth stating that the Kerala CPI-M has initiated a campaign to weed out growing bourgeoisie tendencies in the party.
