Police said an army convoy carrying reinforcements to Futlipora village, where the gun battle was on, was attacked with stones by a mob in Pakherpora Chowk.

Sinar Ahmad, 15 was injured when the army resorted to aerial firing after the mob attack on the convoy. He was shifted to a hospital in Srinagar, police said.

The encounter began early Thursday morning as the army received a tip-off that two to three militants were present in Futlipora village, Badgam.
