Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and its alliance members on Tuesday began celebrating the verdict of 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections after early trends suggested BJP leading in 104 seats and winning five seats.
The Congress is leading in 69 seats and has won one seat and the JD(S) was ahead in 39 as per the trends till 1pm.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar took to Twitter saying Karnataka verdict reflects the affection of people for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his work.
“It’s a victory of hard work put in by BJP president Amit Shah. We express our gratitude to people of Karnataka. We’ll work 4 development of Karnataka with honesty and humility,” added Ravi Shankar in his tweet.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh in a tweet congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of Karnataka for reposing their faith in the leadership of PM Modi and Amit Shah by giving a historical mandate.
This victory is a precursor of the inevitable BJP’s victory in 2019 elections, he added in his tweet.

BJP’s national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said that Karnataka verdict is a historic mandate and people have once again reiterated their faith and confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Hussain congratulated Amit Shah and BJP workers for taking the message of development to each and every corner of Karnataka.
“India is surely and steadily moving towards a Congress ‘Mukt Bharat’ and this is essential for the goal of building a ‘new India’,” said Hussain and added that PM Modi is working towards unleashing the capabilities of the common man that was restricted by faulty policies of the Congress.

Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation of India Suresh Prabhu said that Karnataka verdict is another stamp of public approval to leadership of PM Modi and Amit Shah.

Manipur Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren said that the Karnataka verdict is history in making as BJP emerges as the largest party in the state.

However, there was no mention of Karnataka BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa, as all the congratulatory messages were directed at PM Modi, Amit Shah and BJP workers.
The Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) were the main contenders among other national, regional and fringe parties in the May 12 elections.
In all, 2,622 candidates, including 217 women contested for the seats, which had 36 reserved for Scheduled Castes and 15 for the Scheduled Tribes.
Election in Bengaluru’s Raja Rajeshwari (RR) Nagar was postponed to 28 May due to seizure of voter ID cards and countermanded in the city’s Jayanagar seat due to the death of BJP candidate and MLA BN Vijaya Kumar on 4 May. Vote counting in RR Nagar will be taken up on 31 May.
