The J&K Police on Thursday recovered a consignment of weapons and Indian currency that were dropped by a Pakistani drone in the Samba district of Jammu.
The packet consisting of two pistols, four magazines, 60 bullets, an IED, detonators, a battery with remote, and cash amounting to Rs.5 lakhs were found dropped in an agriculture field in the Vijaypur area near the international border with Pakistan.
Police said that the bomb disposal squad was summoned to open the sealed packet that was tied with a string that is used for dropping such consignments from drones.
For the past few years, Pakistani agencies have been using drones for dropping weapons, currency, and drugs in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab.
A couple of drones were also shot down by BSF and J&K Police
