JetSetGo India’s first aircraft leasing company founded by a women


Described as the Ola/ Uber of the skies, JetSetGo, an aggregator service for aircraft was founded by Kanika Tekriwal when she was just 24. She has built India’s first aircraft leasing company which boasts of a ₹ 150 crore turnover.

Kanika was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 21. After successfully battling the deadly disease, she started her company in 2014 with an investment of just Rs 5,600 and without acquiring any aircraft. With an app, she began her business which customers used to book chartered flights.

She was often dismissed and sometimes ignored at meetings by probable clients. She was often asked about her business being overseen by her male colleagues. Proving herself, she has now about 200 employees, with offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. In 2020- 21.

Tekriwal’s company handled 100,000 fliers having India’s rich and powerful, people who lease jets from her company to travel for business meetings or election rallies and regulated 6,000 flights.

In one of her interviews she once said “I wanted to be in aviation for a long time, but when I got diagnosed with Cancer, my family wanted me to give up on my dream and focus on my treatment, give myself some time to recover. That’s when I ran away from my home with some 5000 rupees in my pocket and started the business. I sure don’t regret the decision at all,”
“At the age of 17, I was working in one of the toughest industries, and private jets were few and far. It is an industry that has evolved, grown, shrunk, and grown again,” she added
