J-K Police arrests one hybrid LeT terrorist from Sopore; arms recovered


The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday busted a terror module of the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and arrested five terrorists in the Shopian district.

The police also recovered a sophisticated improvised explosive device (IED) during the search.

According to ANI reports, the terrorists were planning to target police and security forces by planting explosives during their movement in the area.

A probe has been initiated into the matter.

Two soldiers were killed and 17 other jawans were injured after an IED explosion hit their vehicle at Arihal village in Pulwama on Monday.

Meanwhile, in a major success on Tuesday, the Indian Army killed two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in an encounter at Marhama village of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag.

A soldier also lost his life while two others were injured in the encounter.

The terrorists, identified by ANI as Sajjad Bhat and Tauseef, were linked to the 14 February Pulwama attack that claimed the lives of 40 CRPF troopers.

Bhat’s car was used in the terror attack that happened in Pulwama’s Lethpora area.

The soldiers were killed when a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) suicide bomber blew up an explosive-laden vehicle near their bus in Pulwama district.
