An Italian DJ named Olly Esse has accused the Indian flight carrier Air India of misbehaving with her at the departure area of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on August 19.
Esse, who was touring Hyderabad, has alleged that she was assaulted by Air India staff and the police did not respond positively when she went to register a case.
Air India, on the other hand, has rubbished all the allegations, terming Esse’s allegations as untrue.
On 19 August, after the alleged incident, Esse took to Twitter and wrote, “@hydcitypolice I’ve been physically ASSAULTED today at Hyderabad Airport by an #airindia employee, went to the police station near the airport and they deny to put the complain because apparently inspector was not there. I’m shocked!”
Later, the Italian DJ had posted a video of herself narrating the incident on Facebook.
Esse alleged that she approached the Air India staff when her flight was delayed by nine hours. At the departure gate, she approached the Air India counter to ask for help but the employee at the desk said it was not her job.
“I went and asked a lady (I know name and surname) at the counter of Air India how what should I do and she didn’t reply, attracted her attention once again asking her to collaborate and she replied rudely that this is not her job,” Esse alleged.
Esse went on to say that she was even slapped by the employee as she asked the staffer to repeat her statement on the video. After the incident, Esse went to police to file a complaint.
“After that as soon as I took the name and surname, tried to go to the police station and file the case and u know what? The inspector was not even there and when I’ve asked for help of the security of the airport they literally started to laugh in my face. I’ve tried to ask for mercy and help and no one cared.”
Bravo AIR INDIA! I AM LEFT WITH NO FOOD AND WATER FOR 9 HOURS. NO ONE CARED ABOUT ME BEING LITERALLY ASSAULTED PHYSICALLY and the manager didn’t even blinked or assisted me!” she wrote on Facebook.
