It is clear, Kejriwal is corrupt: Delhi BJP chief

Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva

A day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said here on Friday that it was clear that the “AAP chief is corrupt”.

“It is clear that Kejriwal is corrupt…At the time when the Delhi Deputy CM and Sanjay Singh were arrested, it was clear that Kejriwal was involved in corruption…Now, AAP should clearly understand that they pay for their deeds,” Sachdeva said.

BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra said in November 2021 that Arvind Kejriwal brought a new excise policy and implemented it without the approval of the Cabinet. “In July 2022, the Chief Secretary of Delhi said that the New Excise Policy has some loopholes and it must be checked. In the same month, the LG instructed the CBI to inquire into the matter. When CBI began its inquiry, Arvind Kejriwal withdrew the New Excise Policy,” he had said.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, “Only if Arvind Kejriwal had decided to work for the people of Delhi, and not focus on building a palace for himself, things could have been different.”

Kejriwal’s arrest came days after the ED arrested K Kavitha, Bharat Rashta Samithi (BRS) leader and daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, in connection with its investigation into money laundering charges linked to the now-scrapped excise policy.
