As a mark of their gratitude towards the Central government in highlighting the efforts, contribution, and sacrifices being made by their fraternity, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), on Sunday, wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a gesture of their appreciation towards the Janta Curfew and 5 pm public acknowledgement.
“Respected Sir, Indian Medical Association on behalf of all its members appreciates your gesture of motivating the Public to show gratitude towards the doctors, nurses and healthcare workers of the nation who are tirelessly risking their lives to contain the Covid 19 Pandemic. We promise not to let down the nation in this fight for survival along with the government.”
The letter was signed by Dr Rajan Sharma, National President IMA and Dr RV Asokan, Hony Secretary General IMA.
Prime Minister Modi had addressed the nation on March 19 to seek their help, support, and cooperation in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
He asked, or rather requested the citizens to follow ‘Janata Curfew’ on March 22, from 7 am to 9 pm. He also asked people to acknowledge and appreciate the tireless efforts of the medical professionals who have been at the forefront making every possible contribution and sacrifice to keep us safe from COVID-19.
