According to recent trends in Himachal Pradesh election Jai Ram Thakur CM face from Bharatiya Janta Party is leading from Seraj, Mandi against Congress Candidate Chet Ram, Aam Admi Party has also fielded their candidate Adv Geeta Nand Thakur.
The initial trends of the Election Commission shows incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading on 32 of the 68 assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh, while Congress leading on 33 Assembly seats.
In the last Assembly election in 2017, Jai Ram Thakur defeated Chet Ram by 11254 votes. Jai Ram Thakur has been winning this seat over the last four times and has made Seraj his conventional seat.
Earlier the name of this constituency was Chachiot and then changed to Seraj in 2007.
The party which wins 35 seats will be declared the winning party with a clean majority in the elections. In the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP had won 44 seats and the Congress 21, with one seat going to CPI-M, and two to independent candidates.
