Home Minister holds high-level meet on Joshimath land-subsistence

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review the situation on the ‘sinking’ town of Joshimath in Uttarakhand facing land subsidence affecting hundreds of residents.
The meeting was attended by Road and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Power Minister R K Singh, Environment, and Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav and Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
The meeting reviewed issues related to roads, power supply, water scarcity and environment in Joshimath in the wake of land subsidence.
Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and other officials took part in the meeting held at the Home Minister’s residence.
