Heart Attack Claims Another Life at Gujarat’s Garba Celebrations

Tragic incidents have cast a shadow on the joyous Navratri celebrations in Gujarat, as another individual lost their life while participating in the energetic Garba dance. The latest case involved a 26-year-old man, Rohit Rathod, who experienced a sudden heart attack during a Garba session in Surat, Gujarat.

On a fateful night, Rohit was participating in the vibrant dance form, enjoying the festivities with others in a pandal. However, his celebration turned into a tragedy as he suddenly collapsed. His family swiftly acted, rushing him to the nearest hospital, hoping for a miracle. Sadly, the doctors at the hospital could not save him and declared his passing.

Rohit Rathod’s unexpected death has left his family and community in shock. His brother, Praveen Rathod, revealed that Rohit had no history of underlying medical conditions, making the incident even more bewildering and heart-wrenching.

This tragic event is not an isolated one. Just a few days earlier, on the sixth day of Navratri, a 17-year-old boy lost his life due to a sudden cardiac arrest while participating in Garba in Kapadvanj, Kheda district.

Concerns have been mounting as these heart attack-related deaths during Garba celebrations have become more frequent in the region. In response to this distressing trend, the state government has taken action by issuing directives to all government hospitals situated near Garba venues. These hospitals are now on high alert, prepared to provide prompt medical assistance in case of emergencies.

Furthermore, Garba organizers have received instructions to establish clear pathways for ambulances to access the event venues swiftly. These measures aim to ensure that any health crises that may arise during the festivities can be addressed with the utmost urgency, potentially preventing further tragedies.

The series of deaths during Garba celebrations has evoked sadness and concern among the people of Gujarat. As the community comes to terms with these unexpected losses, the hope is that the precautions and heightened medical preparedness will help ensure the safety and well-being of participants during the remaining days of Navratri, allowing everyone to celebrate this festive season without fear.
