Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Tuesday rubbished rumours of his switch to the BJP, saying he never said anything about it.

“Have you ever heard this from my mouth? You (media) run this news and then ask me about it. First, you (media) should refute it,” Nath told reporters when asked about it.

The rumours started doing round in the power corridors of Bhopal after his son and Chindwara MP Nakul Nath reportedly removed Congress from his bio on ‘x’.

It was said that Kamal Nath would join the BJP along with his son since he angry with the party blaming him for the dismal performance in last year’s assembly elections.

Nath was removed as Madhya Pradesh Congress chief after the elections. Jitu Patwari replaced him.

Another reason that was being speculated was denial of the Rajya Sabha birth. The Congress gave Rajya Sabha ticket to Ashok Yadav.

However, a recent social media post by Kamal Nath about Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra suggest things have settled in the Madhya Pradesh Congress, at least for now.

“The people of Madhya Pradesh and Congress workers are excited to welcome Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

Our leader Shri Rahul Gandhi has taken to the streets across the country and announced a decisive fight against injustice, oppression and exploitation.

I urge the people of Madhya Pradesh and the brave workers of Congress to become the strength and courage of Rahul Gandhi by joining the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra in maximum numbers…,” the former MP CM wrote.
